12 Foods You Must Try on Your Carnival Cruise

Last month my mom and I boarded a ship bound for Mexico.  It was her first cruise and my sis and I armed her with tons of info promising her that this cruise wouldn't be her last.

We told her all about the ship layout and amenities.  We booked a couple of excursions for our days at the port.

Told her all about duty free shopping and made sure she had a bottle or two of White Hennessy on her shopping list.

Made sure she knew where the spa, casino, comedy club and all of the onboard places to eat where.

Fortunately we booked a room on the Lido Deck most of the fun spots were  just right down the hallway.

If you've never been on a cruise before, book one.

My family and friends who have cruised always raved about them and I didn't get all the hype UNTIL my first cruise.

Hubby and I had the most amazing time.  I think the most amazing this was that despite eating all this amazing food, I didn't gain any weight.  Not a single pound.  Go me!!!

We snapped pics at every meal.  Each dish was graciously prepared and so beautiful to look at.  The freshest veggies, the finest cuts of meat and the most elegant desserts.

Fancy menu items such as vischoisse, escargot, creme' brulee, and more were featured on the menu during the dinner course.  I could go on and on about the fabulous foods but sometimes a pictures says more than words ever could so using this curation idea I borrowed from the fab blogger, Tasheena of Simply Tasheena.

Be sure to check out her posts featuring her recent trip to Columbia.

Check out these 12 foods you MUST try on your Carnival Cruise.

WHAT WE ATE
Chilled Shrimp Cocktail with Bibb Lettuce appetizer

Asparagus Vichyssoise
I can't even lie I got so much joy just saying "vichyssoise"
The Shrimp Cocktail with Bibb Lettuce was so good, I had 2 of 'em

Guy's Burgers are featured on Sea Days
That's Guy as in Food Network's Chef and Host, Guy Fieri
These burgers are so good and those fries with that Donkey Sauce!!! OMG!

Lobster Tail and Garlic Gulf Shrimp

The Fish Dishes were absolutely delicious and the pickled veggie salsa served with the fish was so good I could have eaten it as a side dish.

And then the desserts... oh the desserts
They're pretty, oh so pretty...

Chocolate Lovers rejoice and enjoy the Chocolate Buffet which happens on the last Sea Day
...and now for my favorite dessert
here's a hint, it's not the Molten Lava Cake although I suggest you order it just once during dinner.

My favorite dessert is...
The Buttered Toffee Creme Brulee

There you have it my list of 12 foods you must try on your Carnival Cruise.  Hubby and I have yet to decide when our next cruise will be but we are definitely going on another Carnival Cruise.

Have you ever been on a cruise?  If so, what was your favorite dish?

I so want to go on a cruise on day! I love food, so I'd want to try out so much. I don't like seafood though, so I'd avoid that. However, my kids LOVE seafood, so they'll be thrilled with the shrimp.

Life is a Beach Giveaway Hop

Spring is in full swing.  The birds are singin'.  The pollen is falling and temps are FINALLY warming up.  So what better time time to start planning our Summer getaways. This year - as always - we are beach bound.  It's one of our fave places to visit given we only get to the beach once or twice a year.   Last year's visit to Cozumel was one for the record books. We stopped by this little restaurant and dined on grilled shrimp in a cabana right on the beach.   'Ohana also has a line of tequilas in flavors I had never seen before.  Tropical flavors such as coconut, mango and pina colada.  Hubby and I tried the 'Ohana peanut butter tequila.  The owner said folks either love it or hate it... we LOVED it!!! As I was sipping all I could think of was how good this peanut butter tequila would taste as a baste on my tequila wings.  It would be like a tequila satay wings type dish. * * * G I V E A W A Y * * * One lucky Three ...
