Lights! Camera! Action! Be a Star at Hollywood Wax Museum

During a recent trip to Branson, Missouri, the family had the opportunity to visit the Hollywood Wax Museum.  The Hollywood Wax Museum is easy to spot along Highway 76 thanks to the gigantic, life-size King Kong statue high atop the building.

Dear Martese Johnson, Honor Students and Fake IDs

My heart ached upon hearing of the brutal beating of a young African American college student.  This morning my youngest son suddenly entered my room and a photo of a bruised, bloodied Martese Johnson being arrested flashed on the tv screen.

The Berenstain Bears STILL Cranking Out Books After All These Years

The Berenstain Bears books have been around as long as I can remember.  I remember watching The Berenstain Bears on PBS when I was a kid.  I remember checking them out from our local library and purchasing a Berenstain Bears book or two from the school book fair when I was a kid.  The Berenstain Bears were popular because there was always a moral to the story and I guess that's one of the reasons the series has lasted so many years.  I did a little research and found out the series premiered in 1962.    Flash forward 53 years later and The Berenstain Bears are still at it.  Thats' pretty amazing isn't it?

Get Those Fab Pics Off Your Phone and Share Them

How many fab photos do you have on your phone?  50?  100?  200+? Time to release the pics from the imprisonment of your phone.   Has your phone replaced your camera?  I used to lug my camera with me all the time but now I find myself using my cell phone to capture those can't miss moments.  Sharing pics on social media or via text is great but some of those pics are so fab they're worthy of something more special.  Those are the pics I use as greeting cards, calendars, and photo books.

Have You Ever Visited a Hollywood Wax Museum @USFG

Have you ever visited one of those tourist-y Hollywood Wax Museums?  No matter where we vacation:  Orlando, San Francisco, LA, New York, Branson, there is always one of these wax museums.  For a long time I avoided them thinking they were a) kinda creepy, b) too tourist-y and c) just creepy.

She's the FIRST In Her Family to Go to College

As I waited in the lobby to pick up my kids, I overheard a teenager whining to her mom "I need a 19".  "That's not good enough."  "Maaaahhhhhhmmmm... it's good enough.  It's not like a school grade"   "How a 19 gonna get you into college?  Do you have all the paperwork?" the mom asked fumbling through a huge stack of papers.   "Yes" replied the teen bluntly. "A" tap "C" tap "T" tap tap tap. "Ooh this too much" said the mom. I smiled.  Someone's going to college.  I leaned in slightly listening deeper to their conversation.  The mother daughter bickering continued for a few minutes until the mom rose from her chair completely frustrated with her daughter.  The daughter let out a huge sigh.   "Are you okay" I asked. "Yes ma'am."  She said softly looking down at her laptop. Her mom returned and sat down between us.  "Ooh this is so frustra

This has been a wicked Winter but rest assured Spring will soon be here. I know it's hard to believe while those mounds of dirty snow just outside your window but hang in there Spring is on its way! As we gear up for our annual Spring Break Road Trip I decided to share some traveling tips with some of my fellow road warriors.  These tried and true tips are sure to help you save money as you and your family gear up for your road trip.  #1  Make Sure ALL of Your Tires Are Properly Inflated          Winter has wrecked havoc on city streets and potholes are everywhere.  Lessen your chances of a blowout by making sure your tires are properly inflated.  My mechanic suggests steering away from those gas station tire inflators with the auto tire gauge and don't rely solely on the your car's tire pressure monitoring system.  He suggests a quick visit to your local mechanic or tire shop is the best way to make sure your tires are properly inflated.  Don't forget about t

Check Out "Fool for You" by @TheCurtisFields

What are you listening to lately?    What song is on constant replay on your daily commute? Right now, I am vibing to Ed Sheeran's "Thinking Out Loud" and the youngest of Los Tres Amigos is jamming to Vance Joy's "Riptide" and our family is rocking out to The Curtis Fields "Fool for You". During last week's date night, Sheeran's "Thinking Out Loud" came on the radio.  I asked Hubby to turn it up and told him this song reminds me of us 'cept for the "I'll be loving you until we're 70" verse.  I will love Hubby ALWAYS!!!  The lyrics are a beautiful testament of endearing love and also remind me of couples we know in our family and at church who have been married much longer than our 17 years.  "Riptide" on the other hand is a song I just heard yesterday evening.  The youngest and I were talking and listening to tunes when the song came on.  I was just about to switch stations when he jumpe
