The Spirit of God Illustrated Bible Review + Giveaway #sponsored

The past couple of months I have had to rely on my faith to help me make it through.  My mom always said when times are rough, open your Bible to the Book of Psalms and you will find comfort.  It's something her grandmother always told her.  Funny thing I don't really recall my great grandmother ever going to church.  She was a little spitfire of a woman but when it came to imparting wisdom, she was always on the money.

She lived a simple life. I remember when my parents divorced we stayed with my great-grandparents on their small farm.  Her faith in Our Heavenly Father was strong. She believed He would provide and He always did.  We never wanted for anything. We had everything we needed.

Our Lord is ever present and now that my kids are off to college I made sure to remind them of such.  Just as my great grandmother did.  You shall want for nothing.  You have everything you need.

So as we packed our college "essentials" we were sure to pack their Bibles.  I reminded th…

5 Tips to Upgrade Your Living Space in 5 Minutes or Less

Many thanks to Commercial Silk for sponsoring this post
Looking to update your living space without spending a lot of money?  Check out these 5 tips to update a room in less than 5 minutes without breaking the bank.
1.  Clean it Up Nothing makes a space look newer than a quick dusting off.  Break out the vacuum and give the room a quick vacuuming or grab the feather duster and dust away.
2.  Flowers Add a pop of color to your decor by adding brightly colored flowers to a room.  No green thumb.  No problem.  Silk flowers and plants have come a long way.  I love orchids but they can be so temperamental and are only available certain times of the year at my favorite garden shop but I have a silk arrangement from Commercial Silk Plants  that "blooms" year round.  3.  Lighting Change the entire room by changing the lighting.  Switch the lamps from the bedroom to the living room.  Move a floor lamp from the living room to the den and have the entire family doing a double take.  Or simpl…

PAW PATROL: MIGHTY PUPS Coming to @NickelodeonDVD on September 11 EXCLUSIVELY at @Walmart #Sponsored

I got the biggest laugh a couple of weeks ago watching Mila Kunis on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.  Both Mila and Jimmy are parents of toddlers and they were talking about how much their little ones' favorite Nick Jr. shows.

I could totally relate.  Nickelodeon definitely gets a lot of airtime in the Three Boys and an Old Lady household. Whether it's the Littlest One watching Nick Jr., my oldest son and Avatar or me watching Spongebob Squarepants.  What can I say.  Mama loves some Spongebob. *smile*

One of our faves, PAW Patrol has a new release coming out in a couple of weeks.  Nickelodeon's paw-some pups, the PAW Patrol, embark on their biggest mission yet in the brand-new TV movie, PAW Patrol: Mighty Pups. Available exclusively at Walmart on September 11, this 44-minute action-packed adventure comes to DVD along with a digital copy on Vudu ahead of its TV debut.

In this high-flying, heroic mission, the PAW Patrol are given Mighty Pup powers after a mysterious mete…

Note to Self: "You Got This"

Next weekend Hubby and I will load up the car and drop my son off at college. I should be ready. I mean I’ve had 18 years to prepare for this and we knew this day would come one day but I am not ready.

Yes, I’m excited for him having the opportunity to attend college. Those years of A/P and IB courses and practice paid off. He earned a scholarship and he also received a music scholarship as well. He did the work, he earned the prize.  I'm so proud of him.

As proud as I am for him, I am absolutely terrified for me. A friend and I were talking. She’s in a similar situation. Her youngest leaves for college in a few weeks so my friend and her husband have started “hanging out” with other couples.

“it’s kinda weird hanging out with adults when so much of our lives revolved around our kids. I come home and I literally have nothing to do.”

Her words reminded me of all those hours spent in the car as my kid’s practice ran late or waiting at the school for the bus to arrive from that…
