The Wonder of Faith

Yesterday an "On this day" reminder popped up on my social media feed with a post from a few years ago.
I read it and began to cry.  I remember that day.  I remember writing that post.

I was on a business trip a few hours away from home and I got a call from my husband telling me the twins went to Bible Study with him.  He said they stood tall and asked the pastor if they could be baptized.

I remember shouting "Hallelujah" over and over again.  The decision was theirs and theirs alone.  I wasn't there to sway them one way or another, they did it and they were steadfast in their decision.

Then last Sunday as I watched from the choirstand as my children received communion I felt a #ProudMommyMoment as one of the little ones received communion for the first time.

She knelt down at the altar, cupped her hands to receive the gift of bread and wine.  Her mom stood behind her beaming with a mother's pride.  Her uncle stood nearby and snapped a pic just as the pastor bent down and placed the pasty wafer in her tiny hands.  "Thank you" she said as she smacked on the communion wafer.

After receiving communion her mom led her down the aisle back to their pew.  The smiles on both their faces spoke volumes.

One of my favorite Christian music artists, Hillsong United, recently released a CD titled "Wonder".  The 12-track CD features songs of hope, faith and praise.

Hillsong United is back with a spirit filled,
12-track CD titled "Wonder"
My favorite track is the title track "Wonder".  The lyrics are:  "Have you ever seen the wonder in the glimmer of first sight; As the eyes begin to open and the blindness meets the light".

The only tour I see is in Texas. That is too far for me. I will continue to look for more tours.

Life is a Beach Giveaway Hop

Spring is in full swing.  The birds are singin'.  The pollen is falling and temps are FINALLY warming up.  So what better time time to start planning our Summer getaways. This year - as always - we are beach bound.  It's one of our fave places to visit given we only get to the beach once or twice a year.   Last year's visit to Cozumel was one for the record books. We stopped by this little restaurant and dined on grilled shrimp in a cabana right on the beach.   'Ohana also has a line of tequilas in flavors I had never seen before.  Tropical flavors such as coconut, mango and pina colada.  Hubby and I tried the 'Ohana peanut butter tequila.  The owner said folks either love it or hate it... we LOVED it!!! As I was sipping all I could think of was how good this peanut butter tequila would taste as a baste on my tequila wings.  It would be like a tequila satay wings type dish. * * * G I V E A W A Y * * * One lucky Three ...

12 Delicious Thanksgiving Leftover Ideas They're Sure to Gobble Up

I never understood why we prepare this humongous Thanksgiving dinner and complain about having so many leftovers. We manage to get rid of a lot of leftovers by making sure everyone has a to go plate and delivering dinners to elderly and homebound family, church members and friends.  Yet, there is always a lot of stuff left. After the last guest has left and after I’ve put away the last load of dishes in the dishwasher, it’s time to break out the freezer bags and storage containers and fill up the fridge with all the leftovers.  Here are 12 of our favorite ways to gobble up Turkey Day leftovers and a chance to win a $25 Walmart eGiftcard.   1.       Thanksgiving Casserole         2.       Turkey Roll Ups         3.       Turkey Club Sandwiches         4.       Thanksgiving Pizza  ...
