Sip, Soothe, and Self-Reflect: Homemade Chamomile Tea & "Managing Your Emotions" by Joyce Meyer Book Review

Fall is a season of reflection and cozy comfort, making it the perfect time to curl up with a good book and a soothing cup of homemade chamomile tea.  Don't get me wrong, we love our sweet tea but there's nothing like a warm cup of your favorite tea on a chilly morn.

I recently picked up some chamomile flowers and a copy of "Managing Your Emotions" by Joyce Meyer courtesy to Hachette Book Group.  Chamomile is one of my favorite teas because it helps me to unwind and has several health benefits.  Thought I'd share my favorite chamomile tea recipe and a few thoughts on Meyer's latest release.  Funny thing, this book was a perfect complement to the calming essence of the chamomile tea.

Homemade Chamomile Tea Recipe:

Ingredients:

  1. 1 tablespoon of dried chamomile flowers (or 1 chamomile tea bag)
  2. 1 cup of hot water
  3. 1 teaspoon of honey (optional)
  4. A slice of lemon (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Boil water and let it cool slightly to about 190°F (88°C). Boiling water that's too hot can make the tea bitter, so patience is key.
  2. Place the dried chamomile flowers in a teapot or a heatproof cup. If you're using a chamomile tea bag, simply put it in your cup.
  3. Pour the hot water over the chamomile and let it steep for about 5 minutes. Let the beautiful, fragrant aroma filling the room.
  4. If you like your tea sweet, stir in honey to taste. The honey adds a delightful, natural sweetness to the tea.
  5. For a little zing, add a slice of lemon. The lemon complements the chamomile's floral notes, creating a well-balanced flavor.

Allow your tea to cool slightly and enjoy its soothing properties while you dive into a good book. like "Managing Your Emotions" by Joyce Meyer.

Joyce Meyer's "Managing Your Emotions" is like a warm cup of chamomile tea for your soul. In a world filled with emotional turbulence, Meyer's book is a 90-day devotional, a comforting guide to navigating the complex realm of our feelings. Meyer's deep spiritual wisdom and practical insights resonate throughout the book. She encourages readers to acknowledge and embrace their emotions, highlighting the importance of self-awareness.

Her unique blend of faith and psychological advice ensures that this book is inclusive and can benefit a wide range of readers, regardless of their beliefs. One of the book's strengths is its emphasis on forgiveness as a path to emotional freedom. Meyer beautifully illustrates how holding onto grudges can hinder our emotional well-being and provides practical guidance on the healing power of forgiveness. "Managing Your Emotions" is written in Meyer's trademark straightforward and accessible style. Her personal anecdotes and relatable examples make the content engaging and easy to connect with.

This book equips readers with actionable steps and exercises that foster emotional growth and resilience. In conclusion, whether you're sipping on homemade chamomile tea or immersing yourself in the pages of "Managing Your Emotions," you're bound to find comfort and inspiration. Both the tea and the book offer solace and guidance during the cozy, contemplative days of fall, making this season the perfect time to explore the depths of your emotions and inner strength.

Life is a Beach Giveaway Hop

Spring is in full swing.  The birds are singin'.  The pollen is falling and temps are FINALLY warming up.  So what better time time to start planning our Summer getaways. This year - as always - we are beach bound.  It's one of our fave places to visit given we only get to the beach once or twice a year.   Last year's visit to Cozumel was one for the record books. We stopped by this little restaurant and dined on grilled shrimp in a cabana right on the beach.   'Ohana also has a line of tequilas in flavors I had never seen before.  Tropical flavors such as coconut, mango and pina colada.  Hubby and I tried the 'Ohana peanut butter tequila.  The owner said folks either love it or hate it... we LOVED it!!! As I was sipping all I could think of was how good this peanut butter tequila would taste as a baste on my tequila wings.  It would be like a tequila satay wings type dish. * * * G I V E A W A Y * * * One lucky Three ...
