Check out the September Releases from Faith Words #sponsored

I am so excited to share some of the September releases from Faith Words books.  Faith Words, a division of Hachette Book Group, offers some of the most inspirational reads for readers of all ages.

Let's start with Give Them Jesus by Dr. Dillon T. Thornton. When Hubby and I moved from Cali to his home state, we joined the church he attended growing up.  I was accustomed to large places of worship with multiple service times.  This church was a small church on a huge lot with one worship service.  Never would I have imagined this small group of worshippers would play such a huge role in my life. They have over the course of the last 17 years become my family.

We meet every Sunday for worship service at 10 A.M., Sundays at 9 for Sunday School,  Wednesdays at 6 P.M. for Mid Week Bible Study and Thursday evenings for choir rehearsal.  That's it and that's all.

Our oldest member is in her 90s and she taught many of the parishioners when they were kids.  I remember the first assignment she gave me when I was asked to assist with the Christian Education Department.  She asked me to craft a booklet for the kids with familiar Bible passages and the Apostle's Creed.

In Dr. Thornton's book, Give Them Jesus, he presents a thorough dissection of the Apostle's Creed and its important to our faith as Christians.  Definitely worth purchasing the book for these chapters alone.  Very thoughtful and perfect for parents like me with inquisitive children.
The fundamental presupposition of this book is that Christian parents/guardians are responsible for the spiritual development of the children under their care. I am convinced that most parents feel this responsibility, though they have not been adequately equipped to fulfill it.

Fitting in has never been my thing.  I appreciate the unique qualities that make me... well me.  Get Weird by CJ Casciotta chronicles some of Casciotta's journey in embracing his "weirdness". In this world driven by "likes" and "❤" Casciotta's book is a refreshing reminder to just be yourself.  As a mom of teens, I LOVE THIS BOOK!
Most of us grow up believing it’s more important to fit in than to stand out. But there’s something different about you…and it matters.

What if your weirdness was the key to changing everything? What if the outrageous, imaginative, crazy ideas that live inside your wildest dreams are actually there on purpose, divinely preinstalled to help others?

Knowing what makes you weird is the best thing you can offer your art, your business, your friends, your family, and yourself. It’s the essence of creativity, the stuff of movements, and the hope for humanity. It’s time to quit painting by numbers, conforming to patterns, and checking off boxes. It’s time to GET WEIRD.

Lastly, we have Understanding the Holy Spirit Today by Doris Wynbeek Rikkers. I love this book for not only the message but because it's written by Rikkers, who is undoubtedly one of the most highly respected Christian writers in the game.  When I received the book, I kept glancing at that name as it was so familiar and lo and behold, I figured it out.  Rikkers has been with Zondervan Publishers for years and has penned several of the Study Bibles on my bookshelf.
Introduction
Many Christians believe in God and have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, God’s Son. They understand those two persons of the Trinity—God is the Creator and Father, Jesus is the Son who came to earth as a human, suffered, and died for us. But then there’s the other person of the group—the Holy Spirit, he came in later, right?—at Pentecost, to start the church. Yes, that’s true, but there’s more than that. The Spirit’s work is far greater than most Christians realize.

In this book entirely dedicated to explaining the Holy Spirit, she guides readers through the presence of the Holy Spirit throughout the Bible. Easy to read and makes for a great addition to your Bible Study.

There you have it, three fab faith reads for your September reading.

Which one of these books are you looking forward to reading?

Maple and Brown Sugar Air Fryer Bacon

I've been raving about my Instant Pot but now I have a new favorite... the Air Fryer.   O M G This thing is amazing!  I don't know why I was so late to the Air Fryer craze but I am so glad I am finally onboard.   I've been talking about getting one and then after my aunt posted pics of her new air fryer, that was it off to Best Buy I went.   I wasn't sure how big of a unit I would need but I figured the 2.5 liter would suffice.  I chose the Chefman Express.  It was priced on the shelves for $85 but online for $75.99 and my local store matched the price AND I had my Swagbucks Best Buy QR code so I got 500 SBs + 2 SBs for every dollar spent so that's another 170 SBs.  So, after discounts, my air fryer ended up costing me less than the sale price.  Woohoo! There were some fancy ones on the shelves with digital display but after checking the reviews I figured since I don't fry much this model would suffice. When I think of fried foods, I think

A Pit Stop at Sho Nuff Hot Tamales in Greenville, Mississippi

My cousin and I were driving along and our tummies were rumbling as we crossed the Mississippi state line on US-82.  We didn't really have any particular dish in mind for lunch but we started seeing signs saying "Hot Tamales". "Hot Tamales", my Philly cousin asked. "Yep", I replied nonchalantly.  "I remember reading something about hot tamales being a big thing here in the Delta."   We kept driving and finally decided we would have to try these famous Mississippi Delta hot tamales. Now to decide which one.  There were literally dozens of tamale spots.  We happened upon a restaurant called Sho-Nuff and decided it was the one. We parked and entered the large, delightfully decorated restaurant.  The wall was plastered with local and national awards in recognition of those hot tamales.   There was a sign touting Sho-Nuff as the winner of the local newspaper's favorite restaurant award and 3rd place winner in the annual  Delta Hot Ta
