I was on a weight loss roll and then it stopped.
The scale didn't budge at all.
I weighed myself over and over and still... no change from last week.
Are you freaking kidding me?
Have you experienced this?
It can be pretty disheartening seeing the same numbers when you really have been sticking to the plan but it's okay. This happens. No need to panic. You've got this.
Here are 7 tips to help you beat the weight loss plateau.
1. Drink more water
Water helps flush your system of those and keep off those unwanted pounds. Are you drinking enough water?
2. Start a food journal or use the NUMI app
What are you really eating? Are you logging in everything you eat?
3. Get some rest
Life is busy and sometimes we don't get as much as rest as we should. Our bodies do a lot of work while we sleep and maybe, just maybe, your body is in need of some much needed rest.
4. Try on some old clothes
I was feeling really bummed about the scale not moving and then a friend suggested I try on some old clothes. It felt good not being able to fit those clothes anymore. A reminder of where I was just a few months ago was just what I needed.
5. Exercise more
This probably sounds obvious but truth is the weather was scorching hot and I didn't walk as much or as long as I had the week before.
6. Discuss with your Nutrisystem counselor
Your Nutrisystem Weight Loss Counselors are just a phone, click or email away. They are there to help provide the support you need and help you in your journey to a healthier you.
7. Change your meal routine
Break up the monotony of your daily meal routine. Consider having breakfast for dinner or dinner for lunch. Try a new food.
I know it can be discouraging when the scale reads the same exact number as it did the week before but it's okay. Stay encouraged.
That being said, here we are 28 weeks later and I've lost 31 lbs. My weight loss has plateaued at 31 lbs. for nearly 2 weeks now but it's okay, I'm still 31 lbs. lighter than I was just a few months ago. *pats self on back*
