25 DIY Lip Scrub Recipes for Kissably Soft Lips

During a recent shopping trip to one of my fave beauty and makeup stores, my friend and I noticed a shelf full of lip scrubs.  We were shocked by the price, especially since I make lip scrubs all the time for a fraction of the cost.

Why lip scrubs you ask?  Lip scrubs are perfect for exfoliating your lips, keeping them moisturize during extreme weather like the 100 degree plus days we've had this Summer and those cold, Winter months which will soon be here.
Lip scrubs gently exfoliate lips and help keep lips kissably soft and lip scrubs are simple to make.  All you really need are 3 ingredients you've probably got in your pantry right now:
   1.  Sugar
   2.  Carrier oil
   3.  Essential oil or extract
Most recipes call for a 1/2 cup sugar to 1/2 teaspoon carrier oil ratio with 10-20 drops of essential oil or extract for scent and flavoring and some food coloring for those who want a splash of color.  I usually forego the food coloring as I prefer the natural coloring.
Here's a collection of 25 lip scrub recipes I have either tried or can't wait to try.
What are some of your fave make at home beauty products?

I use lip scrubs all winter long but have never tried to make them myself. I will have to give this a try!
I haven't made any of my own beauty products. I am a bit confused, I thought a scrub was for well scrubbing, so wouldn't have expected it to have colors.

Life is a Beach Giveaway Hop

Spring is in full swing.  The birds are singin'.  The pollen is falling and temps are FINALLY warming up.  So what better time time to start planning our Summer getaways. This year - as always - we are beach bound.  It's one of our fave places to visit given we only get to the beach once or twice a year.   Last year's visit to Cozumel was one for the record books. We stopped by this little restaurant and dined on grilled shrimp in a cabana right on the beach.   'Ohana also has a line of tequilas in flavors I had never seen before.  Tropical flavors such as coconut, mango and pina colada.  Hubby and I tried the 'Ohana peanut butter tequila.  The owner said folks either love it or hate it... we LOVED it!!! As I was sipping all I could think of was how good this peanut butter tequila would taste as a baste on my tequila wings.  It would be like a tequila satay wings type dish. * * * G I V E A W A Y * * * One lucky Three ...
