My Nutrisystem Journey Week 7 Dining Out with Family and Friends #NSNation #Ad

A bloggy friend and I were chatting about one of our favorite chain restaurants and she mentioned she was trying to dine “low carb”. *bing*

OMG I thought “There's my next Nutrisystem post!”

Joyce at Mommy Talk Show is kicking the waffle fries and going low carb. *tosses confetti* I was so excited to share how Nutrisystem Smart Carbs are helping me eat healthier EVEN when dining out.

I know Applebees, Olive Garden, Chick-Fil-A, Golden Corral and IHOP don’t exactly come to mind when you think of Nutrisystem BUT you can dine at these and many other local restaurants while on Nutrisystem.

Granted my first month on Nutrisystem I didn’t dine out at all.  Truth is I was scared.  I loved the weight loss and feared every meal would lead me down a path of packing on the pounds.  However, by the second month I starting using my Nutrisystem tools - The Leaf, the handy Dining Out Guide and NUMI app - to make healthIER choices all the time.

What’s really great about being on Nutrisystem, besides the flexibility, is having a Nutrisystem counselor available from 7 AM – Midnight (ET) to chat with about food choices just in case I need a little guidance. So when my sis and our husbands had a weekend getaway in Memphis, I was able to indulge at Bahama Breeze Island Grille without piling on the calories.
So many delicious choices.  It was difficult deciding what to choose.  I mean the grilled Jamaican Jerk Chicken is a always a great choice and I had to have some plaintains.  Or maybe the Key West Fish Tacos with that ancho-chili sour cream.  Decisions... decisions.

Either way, I wasn't worried as I knew my Nutrisystem counselor was just a call away.  For the record, I settled on the Jamaican Jerk Chicken with tasty beans and yellow rice.
I ate half of my entrée, a couple spoonfuls of the rice and beans and saved the rest for hubby to feast on later.  My swap was equivalent to one of my Nutrisystem dinner entrée + 2 vegetables.

Instead of iced tea or soda, this chica filled up on plenty of ice cold water.
Dining out doesn’t mean having to flip your menu over to the scant selection of “Lo-cal” choices. It just means making smarter choices. So ditch those waffle fries and enjoy a fresh fruit cup or a tasty side salad with that Chick-Fil-A.

Even though my weight loss has plateaued I am making smarter choices and loving the newer me.  Check out my weight loss to date.

Life is a Beach Giveaway Hop

Spring is in full swing.  The birds are singin'.  The pollen is falling and temps are FINALLY warming up.  So what better time time to start planning our Summer getaways. This year - as always - we are beach bound.  It's one of our fave places to visit given we only get to the beach once or twice a year.   Last year's visit to Cozumel was one for the record books. We stopped by this little restaurant and dined on grilled shrimp in a cabana right on the beach.   'Ohana also has a line of tequilas in flavors I had never seen before.  Tropical flavors such as coconut, mango and pina colada.  Hubby and I tried the 'Ohana peanut butter tequila.  The owner said folks either love it or hate it... we LOVED it!!! As I was sipping all I could think of was how good this peanut butter tequila would taste as a baste on my tequila wings.  It would be like a tequila satay wings type dish. * * * G I V E A W A Y * * * One lucky Three ...
