In 1959, Miami journalist and aspiring writer Ed Myers (Giovanni Ribisi) travels to Havana to meet his idol, Ernest Hemingway (Adrian Sparks). A fascinating and unexpected friendship develops as the legendary author mentors young Myers in deep-sea fishing, drinking — and finding his literary voice — while the Cuban Revolution comes to a boil around them. The first U.S. movie filmed in Cuba in more than half a century, Papa: Hemingway in Cuba offers an extraordinary glimpse into the life of a uniquely American icon.

The movie has a wonderful storyline and is historic in that it is the first feature length Hollywood film shot in Cuba since 1959. I thought it was a great take on a story we've heard time and time again about one of the world's most beloved authors. Oh, and the scenery is absolutely beautiful.

Life is a Beach Giveaway Hop

Spring is in full swing. The birds are singin'. The pollen is falling and temps are FINALLY warming up. So what better time time to start planning our Summer getaways. This year - as always - we are beach bound. It's one of our fave places to visit given we only get to the beach once or twice a year. Last year's visit to Cozumel was one for the record books. We stopped by this little restaurant and dined on grilled shrimp in a cabana right on the beach. 'Ohana also has a line of tequilas in flavors I had never seen before.
