Back to School, Life Is Good + a Hallmark Giveaway

The first day of school is upon us and time for the tears.  I always end up crying on the first day of school.  I guess it's the realization our babies are growing up.  It doesn't seem to bother my hubby though.  He can drop the kids off sans tears.  However, there was this one day I was out of town on business and Hubby had to drop the Little Old Lady off at school.  For whatever reason she didn't want to go and she started crying.  Hubby says he whispered a few words to calm her and ushered to her classroom and then he called me saying  "That was hard, I NEVER wanna do THAT again".

I was sharing the story with my mom and she told me of a time when my little brother was about 3 or so and this one particular day my dad was taking him to school. Dropping my brother off at school was always hard for my mom, he was the baby and if he started crying… she started crying. My dad never imagined dropping a kid off at preschool would be so hard 'til that one day when he dropped my little bro off at school and he started crying. My mom says Dad called her once he got to the office saying he never wanted to drop the kids off at school again. Same story. Two different generations.

So how was your kiddo's first day of school experience? Did you take your kid to school? Did they ride the bus? Share your first day of school stories below.

A few months ago, Hallmark introduced their Life Is Good® line and I was sent a mug, framed art, decorative tile and picture frame for review. All of the items would make great gifts for dad but I fell in love with the Love Shows the Way Decorative Tile reminds me of Hubby and our sons. It's simple, black and white sketch of a father and son on a ceramic tile. It feature a tripod stand and would look great on dad's desk.

Thanks to Hallmark, one luck Three Boys and an Old Lady blog reader will receive the following Life Is Good gifts:

   • Life is Good® Mug
   • Raised On Love 6×8 Framed Art
   • Love Shows the Way Decorative Tile
   • Life is Good® Loved, Plain and 3-opening Picture Frame

Life is a Beach Giveaway Hop

Spring is in full swing.  The birds are singin'.  The pollen is falling and temps are FINALLY warming up.  So what better time time to start planning our Summer getaways. This year - as always - we are beach bound.  It's one of our fave places to visit given we only get to the beach once or twice a year.   Last year's visit to Cozumel was one for the record books. We stopped by this little restaurant and dined on grilled shrimp in a cabana right on the beach.   'Ohana also has a line of tequilas in flavors I had never seen before.  Tropical flavors such as coconut, mango and pina colada.  Hubby and I tried the 'Ohana peanut butter tequila.  The owner said folks either love it or hate it... we LOVED it!!! As I was sipping all I could think of was how good this peanut butter tequila would taste as a baste on my tequila wings.  It would be like a tequila satay wings type dish. * * * G I V E A W A Y * * * One lucky Three ...
