How to Make Smear-proof, Waterproof Labels for Water Bottles

A few months ago I attended a conference and inside each swag bag was a water bottle labeled with the conference name and dates. Great idea right? WRONG! The label smeared within minutes due to condensation leaving ink all over the inside of my bag practically ruining it. My advice to the conference goody bag peeps is simple, use Avery Easy Align Self-Laminating ID Labels instead of regular mailing labels.

Smeared.

Goody bags are the highlight of any conference. Companies vie for spots in the coveted Grammy or Oscar swag bags and wait for stars to post pics of their coveted bags. Well, I have yet to attend a conference where they’re handing out bags with diamonds or big ticket items for everyone. Most of the conferences I attend are smaller and even though you won’t find the haute au ooh la la items in the bags you will find some nice swag…and EVERYONE loves swag.

My tip to conference holders who opt to create their own labels for water bottle swag vs. ordering personalized water bottles is to head to your office supplies store and snag some Avery Easy Align Self-Laminating labels. They’re Avery labels so they’re easy to use.

  1. Go to Avery.com
  2. Select Templates
  3. Click on Get Started Now
  4. Enter template number and click GO!
  5. Type your text and print

That’s it.

No more smeared swag.

Check out these waterproof labels I made for my friend Raven's Zumba class.

Life is a Beach Giveaway Hop

Spring is in full swing.  The birds are singin'.  The pollen is falling and temps are FINALLY warming up.  So what better time time to start planning our Summer getaways. This year - as always - we are beach bound.  It's one of our fave places to visit given we only get to the beach once or twice a year.   Last year's visit to Cozumel was one for the record books. We stopped by this little restaurant and dined on grilled shrimp in a cabana right on the beach.   'Ohana also has a line of tequilas in flavors I had never seen before.  Tropical flavors such as coconut, mango and pina colada.  Hubby and I tried the 'Ohana peanut butter tequila.  The owner said folks either love it or hate it... we LOVED it!!! As I was sipping all I could think of was how good this peanut butter tequila would taste as a baste on my tequila wings.  It would be like a tequila satay wings type dish. * * * G I V E A W A Y * * * One lucky Three ...
