After seeing the world's tallest waterslide at Schlitterbahn Kansas City, the three boys and old lady were psyched to visit a Schlitterbahn waterpark. I know a waterpark in December? *raises eyebrows* With temps hovering around 70 degrees and minimal crowds December proved to be the best time for a weekend family getaway.
Schlitterbahn offers over 20 attractions from casual and relaxing to thrilling and daring and has locations all over Texas and recently expanded to Kansas City, Missouri. Each location has tons of adventurous water attractions, but even more than that, each location offers a unique set of attractions. Schlitterbahn Waterpark and Resorts have been featured on the Travel Channel several times and is world renowned for its water park thrill attractions.
Schlitterbahn is an ideal place for a holiday getaway since it's open on both Christmas and New Year's Day! In fact, Schlitterbahn parks are open most holidays. A day at Schlitterbahn is an economical way to vacay and admission costs includes parking, tubes and ALL water attractions. Parking? Included? Yes, parking is included. We have a local amusement park and parking is a steep $15 on top of the already steep admission ticket price.
Planning your day at Schlitterbahn
Start your day with lunch from Schlitterbahn's Shrimp Haus in one of Shlitterbahn's beachside cabanas and now for a limited time, you will receive 2 souvenir beach towels with every cabana rental. Lunch? Yes lunch. If you're at Schlitterbahn the first thing you and the kids will want to do is hit the park.
Then it's off for a day of fun. With so many things to see and do, you'll want to soak in as much as you can and with unseasonably warm Winter temps why not soak in every single activity. Here's a tip to maximize your visit to Schlitterbahn parks... visit www.schlitterbahn.com and download the resort map. While there check out some of the attractions specific to your desired destination. For example, if you are visiting Schlitterbahn South Padre Island you'll want to use the "Transportainment System" to get around. If you're heading to Kansas City, it's home to the world's TALLEST waterslide.
