My Thoughts:
Bishop T.D. Jakes offers a very inspirational message throughout Destiny and invites the reader to embrace that force that seems to drive them a certain direction. When rhyme nor reason can explain why you chose a certain path, it's just a feeling, a certain inward force compelling you to move, you can't help but question it at times. Destiny reminds us to welcome that force. We are predestined to do certain things without explanation.
The reader is able to connect with Jakes' personal writing style. He writes as if he is speaking directly to the reader and challenges the reader as he has in previous books to step out of your comfort zone. This is a great read and I was glad to gift it to Bishop Mildred B. Hines of the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church. Bishop Hines is the first female elected bishop of the A.M.E. Zion Church. She introduced several of us to Bishop Jakes' previous book, Instinct, about a year ago and I was interested in her take on Bishop Jakes' latest. I'm confident she will enjoy this book as well.
Overall, a great read and perfect for gifting to spiritual leaders in your congregation and sharing during biblical studies and spiritual counseling sessions.
