Shopping for the "Perfect" Bible

I love our pastor.  He doesn't just stick with the King James version of the Bible.  He invites us to explore other Bible translations such as the NIV, ESV, NLT, NLV, The Message and others.  He is a believer of using whatever it takes to make the believer understand the Word.  A visit to a local bookstore will reveal finding the perfect Bible to gift someone is no easy task.  There are so many to choose from.

Whether you're looking for a Bible for a Breast Cancer Survivor or welcoming a new addition to the family, Bibles make great gifts.  Each year my church gifts graduating seniors with an engraved Bible.  My husband STILL has his and reads from it daily.  I remember when my kids were born my mom entrusted me with the family Children's Bible.  She purchased it in the 1970s from a door to door salesman.  It's a family treasure and one I hope to gift to my children and grandchildren in years to come.

Do you remember your first Bible?  I can't say I do but I remember the first Bible I ever loved.  It was the Children's Book of Bible Stories.  A friend who was a Jehovah's Witness gifted it to me when I was a teenager.  This was the first book of Bible stories I gifted to each of my children.  Now they're older and have Bibles of their own but this book of Bible stories was they're first and has a place on their bookshelf for all to see.

Hadn't thought much of gifting the Littlest One with a Bible until I received The Little Chick's Bible.
The Little Chick’s Bible is a soft, cuddly Bible that children age 2-5 can call their own. Throughout this plush-covered book little ones learn that they’re loved and cared for by God as they hear about God’s faithfulness in stories from the Old and New Testaments of the Bible. With sweet, rhyming text and colorful illustrations, this soft and cuddly character storybook Bible is sure to become a classic with preschoolers.

The Author PJ Lyons received a Master's Degree in Writing for Children at Vermont College and is the author of The Little Lion's Bible, The Little Lamb's Bible, and The Wonderful World that God Made. She currently resides in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

The Little Chick's Bible is a wonderful book of Bible stories for little ones.  In addition to being a cute book of Bible stories, the book would make a wonderful addition to your favorite church nursery.  It is absolutely adorable.

Life is a Beach Giveaway Hop

Spring is in full swing.  The birds are singin'.  The pollen is falling and temps are FINALLY warming up.  So what better time time to start planning our Summer getaways. This year - as always - we are beach bound.  It's one of our fave places to visit given we only get to the beach once or twice a year.   Last year's visit to Cozumel was one for the record books. We stopped by this little restaurant and dined on grilled shrimp in a cabana right on the beach.   'Ohana also has a line of tequilas in flavors I had never seen before.  Tropical flavors such as coconut, mango and pina colada.  Hubby and I tried the 'Ohana peanut butter tequila.  The owner said folks either love it or hate it... we LOVED it!!! As I was sipping all I could think of was how good this peanut butter tequila would taste as a baste on my tequila wings.  It would be like a tequila satay wings type dish. * * * G I V E A W A Y * * * One lucky Three ...
