Two months into the school year and my oldest son comes home with the first Science project of the school year. I try, I really try not to get overly involved in my kids' projects but there's nothing wrong with helping your kids with their homework.
My kid was tasked with creating either a plant or animal cell. He had to include at least ten parts of the cell and a key with descriptions. He chose to create an animal cell and made my day by asking me to help. Woohoo!!! I grabbed a ream of Neenah Astrobrights paper, some markers and a glue gun from the homework cabinet and we were ready to work.
Neenah Paper Astrobrights Colored Card Stock and Neenah Paper Astrobrights Colored Paper come in over a dozen ultra bright colors. The card stock is a heavy 65 lb. cardstock perfect for posters, flyers and making animal cell posters. Using a diagram from his book as a guide, we created one of the brightest plant cells ever! His teacher gave him an "A" and asked if he could display our, I mean my kid's work, in the classroom. I wish I had snapped a pic of his project before sending it to school with him, but I never expected the teacher to keep it. Usually, the projects are returned to the kids within in a few days, but our animal cell poster was such a hit that my kid's teacher decided to keep it while they continue their studies on animal and plant cells.
Next time I will be sure to snap a pic and share.
