Green Virgin Products Soap Nuts Liquid Review

 This is a sponsored post

Have you ever heard of Soap Nuts?  For anyone who hasn't heard of soap nuts before the thought of using soap berries/nuts may see a little odd but it's really not.  There are stories of many cultures who used soap nuts in the past to launder their clothes and also used soap nuts for their medicinal properties.  When my youngest of Los Tres Amigos as a toddler, I tried laundering with soap nuts in their most organic form.  He has pretty sensitive skin and I struggled to find a laundry detergent that didn't cause him to break out.  A friend of mine had recommended soap nuts and I tried with some hesitation but they actually worked.

Fast forward to today.  A few weeks ago, I received a bottle of Soap Nuts Liquid from Green Virgin Products to review. The 8 oz. bottle supposedly cleans 120 HE loads.  Yes, 120.  One hundred twenty HE loads.  I am about 25 loads in already and so far so good.

Nothing to measure.  Just a couple of pumps from the dispenser per load and you're good to go.  A couple of pumps equates to about 1 teaspoon for Wash like you normally do.  If you use add bleach to whiten your white clothes, you still can.  If you use a liquid fabric softener, you still can.  You don't have to but you can.

No odor.  This is HUGE for me because I am very sensitive to fragrances and certain detergents are so heavily scented I cannot use them.

Money saver.  Green Virgin Products Soap Nuts Liquid is a laundry detergent AND fabric softener.  Worked okay, but I still toss in a couple of tennis balls in the dryer with every load.  I don't know if it's just habit or because the tennis balls really are a great "natural" fabric softener.  Either way, I found the loads dried with the tennis balls to be softer than those with just the Soap Nuts Liquid alone.

Versatility.  I used Soap Nuts Liquid to damp mop my hardwood floors and clean my bathroom.  I don't know what prompted me to try it but I figured I'd try it.  That's one of the reasons I like using natural cleaning products.  I know they're typically safe to use for cleaning other areas of my home my family and pets frequent.

I like to see suds when I wash clothes and if you've never used soap nuts before you will probably add more than suggested because you're used to seeing a plume of bubbles with other detergents.  You don't need to do this.  Really 2-3 squirts is all you need.

Here's a pic of just 2 squirts in a rather full load of play clothes.

Sorry for the blurry pic but wanted to see the pump in action.  The copper colored stream is the Green Virgin Products' Soap Nuts Liquid.  Green Virgin Products carries USDA certified organic soap nuts.

Maple and Brown Sugar Air Fryer Bacon

I've been raving about my Instant Pot but now I have a new favorite... the Air Fryer.   O M G This thing is amazing!  I don't know why I was so late to the Air Fryer craze but I am so glad I am finally onboard.   I've been talking about getting one and then after my aunt posted pics of her new air fryer, that was it off to Best Buy I went.   I wasn't sure how big of a unit I would need but I figured the 2.5 liter would suffice.  I chose the Chefman Express.  It was priced on the shelves for $85 but online for $75.99 and my local store matched the price AND I had my Swagbucks Best Buy QR code so I got 500 SBs + 2 SBs for every dollar spent so that's another 170 SBs.  So, after discounts, my air fryer ended up costing me less than the sale price.  Woohoo! There were some fancy ones on the shelves with digital display but after checking the reviews I figured since I don't fry much this model would suffice. When I think of fried foods, I think

A Pit Stop at Sho Nuff Hot Tamales in Greenville, Mississippi

My cousin and I were driving along and our tummies were rumbling as we crossed the Mississippi state line on US-82.  We didn't really have any particular dish in mind for lunch but we started seeing signs saying "Hot Tamales". "Hot Tamales", my Philly cousin asked. "Yep", I replied nonchalantly.  "I remember reading something about hot tamales being a big thing here in the Delta."   We kept driving and finally decided we would have to try these famous Mississippi Delta hot tamales. Now to decide which one.  There were literally dozens of tamale spots.  We happened upon a restaurant called Sho-Nuff and decided it was the one. We parked and entered the large, delightfully decorated restaurant.  The wall was plastered with local and national awards in recognition of those hot tamales.   There was a sign touting Sho-Nuff as the winner of the local newspaper's favorite restaurant award and 3rd place winner in the annual  Delta Hot Ta
