This summer, Walk the Walk is bringing its legendary MoonWalk to New York City for the first time to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer causes.
This isn't your run-of-the-mill fitness event! At 10 PM on July 20, 2013, thousands of women and men will power-walk through the streets of New York City wearing
brightly decorated bras to inspire others to get fit and have fun. The
route will weave through the city's most iconic landmarks, lit up
brightly at night. Yes, thousands of people walking the streets in bras for a cause.
Two courses ensure everyone will can participate regardless of their fitness level. There's a 1/2 moon (half marathon) and a full moon (26.3 miles). Monies raised will support the Breast Examination Center in Harlem where 80% of patients are uninsured.
The MoonWalk isn't new. It's been around for over 15 years. In fact, MoonWalk London has raised over $126 million dollars since it's inception 15 years ago.
What a great way to show your support and help raise funds for a wonderful cause!
