Ronco Hidden Veggie Pasta Review

I should probably preface this post by the Three Boys and an Old Lady family is known for eating a lotta pasta.  Seriously, we have pasta at least twice a week, sometimes three.  My eldest nephew often teases me because it never fails that whenever he drops by our home, we just so happen to have pasta for dinner.  What can I say, I love pasta.  Pasta is versatile, can be served hot or cold, filling, the entire family likes it and it's inexpensive.

Over the years I've tried some healthy pasta varieties.  Some we've liked.  Others, notsomuch.   We've tried wheat, whole wheat, whole grain, high fiber, buckwheat, spelt (yes, spelt pasta), and a few other varieties and there are noticeable taste differences in each.  I told you we eat a lotta pasta in the Three Boys and an Old Lady household.  I admit, I was a bit skeptical when I heard of Ronco Hidden Veggie Pasta but figured I'd give it a try and whipped up some chicken spinach penne alfredo.

At first glance Ronco Hidden Veggie Pasta looks just like your typical pasta but it's
"Hidden Veggie".   Yes, hidden veggie.  There's actually a full serving of veggies in every 4 oz. pasta portion.  Real veggies:  corn, carrots and squash.  Aha, finally a way to make my eldest eat his carrots!

Ronco Hidden Veggie Pasta is low in calories, has 0 cholesterol, low fat, no sodium, no sugar and here's the best part it tastes great.  The entire family, even the picky little one, loved it.  If you've ever tried some of the whole grain pasta varieties you will definitely notice that Ronco Hidden Veggie pasta is not as dense and doesn't take as long to cook.

We loved it and we'll definitely purchase more.  Healthy, nutritious and they like it, that's a win-win for this Keep It Simple Cooking mommy.

Life is a Beach Giveaway Hop

Spring is in full swing.  The birds are singin'.  The pollen is falling and temps are FINALLY warming up.  So what better time time to start planning our Summer getaways. This year - as always - we are beach bound.  It's one of our fave places to visit given we only get to the beach once or twice a year.   Last year's visit to Cozumel was one for the record books. We stopped by this little restaurant and dined on grilled shrimp in a cabana right on the beach.   'Ohana also has a line of tequilas in flavors I had never seen before.  Tropical flavors such as coconut, mango and pina colada.  Hubby and I tried the 'Ohana peanut butter tequila.  The owner said folks either love it or hate it... we LOVED it!!! As I was sipping all I could think of was how good this peanut butter tequila would taste as a baste on my tequila wings.  It would be like a tequila satay wings type dish. * * * G I V E A W A Y * * * One lucky Three ...
