EatSmart Precision Digital Kitchen Scale Review

Each new year I make an honest effort to start the year off by eating healthier and it never fails, by the end of January, my gumption wanes until Spring.  Well, guess what, it's SPRING!  *tosses confetti*

I have added quite a few healthy lifestyle cookbooks to my cookbook collection and noticed that a lot of them include recipes with the weight of an ingredient.  Yes, the weight.  Rather than guess, it's great to have a handy dandy tool like a kitchen scale available.  I've owned my EatSmart digital bathroom scale for nearly 3 years and my mom loved it so much she bought one for her home.  EatSmart digital scale products are perfectly calibrated and provide accurate weight measurements so when it came to choosing a scale for my kitchen, the choice was easy: EatSmart.

The EatSmart Precision Digital Kitchen Scale has some great features:
  • Easy to set-up (insert batteries)
  • Large weighing surface area
  • Holds up to 15 lbs.
  • You can measure multiple items without moving them from the scale
  • Multiple weights and measurements (pounds, kilograms, ounces AND grams)
  • Easy to read digital display
  • Easy to clean
  • Automatic shut-off helps saves battery life + batteries come with the unit
These are just some of my favorite features.

Now that Spring is here and the farmers market is in full swing.  The Three Boys and an Old Lady refrigerator is full of vine-ripened strawberries, plump raspberries, tangerines and tomatoes.  I just had my very first tomato of the season courtesy of the TheThorough1 (thanks Diva).

I should note the kids found more uses for the kitchen scale. My youngest discovered it's the perfect way to exactly measure a bag of Skittles so everyone gets the same exact WEIGHT vs. the same number of Skittles. Kids.?!

Life is a Beach Giveaway Hop

Spring is in full swing.  The birds are singin'.  The pollen is falling and temps are FINALLY warming up.  So what better time time to start planning our Summer getaways. This year - as always - we are beach bound.  It's one of our fave places to visit given we only get to the beach once or twice a year.   Last year's visit to Cozumel was one for the record books. We stopped by this little restaurant and dined on grilled shrimp in a cabana right on the beach.   'Ohana also has a line of tequilas in flavors I had never seen before.  Tropical flavors such as coconut, mango and pina colada.  Hubby and I tried the 'Ohana peanut butter tequila.  The owner said folks either love it or hate it... we LOVED it!!! As I was sipping all I could think of was how good this peanut butter tequila would taste as a baste on my tequila wings.  It would be like a tequila satay wings type dish. * * * G I V E A W A Y * * * One lucky Three ...

Trust me. I bought a 6’ Christmas tree WITH lights, 2 animal massagers, 3 Jelly Belly BeanBoozled Jelly Beans Mystery Bean Dispenser, Christmas cards and wrapping paper less than $20 during an after Christmas Walmart shopping trip. I was searching for some cough syrup when my friend’s kid spotted the Jelly Belly BeanBoozled Jelly Beans Mystery Bean Dispenser on sale for 50 cents. What a steal! The regular price is $10 so to find them on sale for 50 cents was a deal. We cleared the shelves. A few rows down we spotted some anima...

12 Delicious Thanksgiving Leftover Ideas They're Sure to Gobble Up

I never understood why we prepare this humongous Thanksgiving dinner and complain about having so many leftovers. We manage to get rid of a lot of leftovers by making sure everyone has a to go plate and delivering dinners to elderly and homebound family, church members and friends.  Yet, there is always a lot of stuff left. After the last guest has left and after I’ve put away the last load of dishes in the dishwasher, it’s time to break out the freezer bags and storage containers and fill up the fridge with all the leftovers.  Here are 12 of our favorite ways to gobble up Turkey Day leftovers and a chance to win a $25 Walmart eGiftcard.   1.       Thanksgiving Casserole         2.       Turkey Roll Ups         3.       Turkey Club Sandwiches         4.       Thanksgiving Pizza  ...
