Geronimo Stilton Cavemice #1: The Stone of Fire Book Review

Geronimo Stilton meets The Flintstones in this NEW, prehistoric spin-off series!

Welcome to the world of Cavemice! Geronimo Stiltonoot, Geronimo Stilton's ancient ancestor, lives in the village of Old Mouse City, where he is the editor of THE STONE GAZETTE. Every day, he carves the news into slabs of stone, because the printing press hasn't been invented yet! Life in the Stone Age is full of adventure, whether he's dodging meteorites or trying to avoid a saber-toothed tiger or ferocious T-Rex. He's chiseled all of his outrageously funny tales into stone so everyone will know what it was like to live in the Stone Age!

In this adventure, Old Mouse City is in an uproar. The most precious artifact in the Old Mouse City Mouseum--the Stone of Fire--has been stolen! Geronimo Stiltonoot and his cavemouse friend Hercule Poirat are on the case. It's up to them to retrieve the stone from the ferocious Tiger Khan and his band of fearsome felines!

Our Thoughts:  Nothing like a little play on words to generate a smile or two for older readers.  My youngest son really enjoyed reading this book.   The Geronimo Stilton books are a favorite among his classmates and he really enjoyed the latest addition saying "Who knew mice had such a rich geneology".  Yes, he actually said that.  Just enough adventure and mystery to keep him enthralled all the way to the very end and awaiting the very next Geronimo Stilton book.

Overall, a perfect read for young readers and sure to put a smile on their face as they read of the latest adventures of one of their favorite characters.

Disclosure:  Many thanks to Scholastic for the opportunity to review this fab read on NetGalley.

Life is a Beach Giveaway Hop

Spring is in full swing.  The birds are singin'.  The pollen is falling and temps are FINALLY warming up.  So what better time time to start planning our Summer getaways. This year - as always - we are beach bound.  It's one of our fave places to visit given we only get to the beach once or twice a year.   Last year's visit to Cozumel was one for the record books. We stopped by this little restaurant and dined on grilled shrimp in a cabana right on the beach.   'Ohana also has a line of tequilas in flavors I had never seen before.  Tropical flavors such as coconut, mango and pina colada.  Hubby and I tried the 'Ohana peanut butter tequila.  The owner said folks either love it or hate it... we LOVED it!!! As I was sipping all I could think of was how good this peanut butter tequila would taste as a baste on my tequila wings.  It would be like a tequila satay wings type dish. * * * G I V E A W A Y * * * One lucky Three ...
