Perfect New Year's Eve Party in 5 Steps

Looking to throw a New Year's Eve party without a lot of fuss?

Okay, I've got everything you need to do it in 5 easy steps.  Seriously, it doesn't take much to host a party that will wow your family and friends.

First things first.  Create a guest list.  Just a few of your favorite gal pals or family and friends.  Don't go overboard.  This is a last minute gathering so you want to minimize YOUR stress.

2.  Send invitations.  Be sure to include the time, location and if you're feeling really fancy include a theme.  Not feeling all that creative, no worries, choose a template that reflects YOUR style.  Again, no stress.
3.  Create a signature drink.  It's always best to have both an alcohol and a non-alcoholic beverage for your guests.  Champagne Punch is always a winner for NYE celebrations.  Just a bottle of champagne, fruit juice and some fresh fruit and you've got a banging punch.  For the non-alcoholic version just switch the champagne and vodka with a bottle of sparkling apple cider or ginger ale.

Here's one of my favorite champagne punch recipes:

In a large bowl combine:  2 cups orange juice, 1 cup pineapple juice, 1 cup fresh fruit and 1 (750mL) bottle chilled champagne.  Stir. Chill until ready to serve.
4.  Appetizers Galore.  A quick stop at your favorite grocer for a couple of deli trays is a no no.  It's New Year's Eve, get fancy with it.  We're not doing deli trays, we're preparing charcuterie boards.  All you need is a couple of hard and soft cheeses,  a few slices of cured meats, crackers, bread sticks, mustards, jams, maybe some olives is all it takes to create a spread they'll enjoy munching on while waiting for the stroke of midnight.
5.  Lastly, decorations.  Stock up on a few NYE party hats and some noisemakers to ring in the New Year.  I found a New Years Eve party set for 12 for only $10 at a local party supply place near our house.

Let's recap how to throw the perfect New Year's Eve Party in 5 steps:

1.  Create your guest list
2.  Send invitations
3.  Signature drink
4.  Slamming appetizers
5.  Decorations

What are YOU doing New Year's Eve?

We usually just sit at home and watch movies or play games. We never get invited to parties, and our house is too small to host a party. Just a cozy night in, I guess.

We used to go out for New Year's Eve, but now we prefer to stay in and watch the celebrations on TV. I love the idea of making a signature drink!

I love this simple approach to New Year's Eve! We don't usually do a whole lot, and often the kids fall asleep before it's even midnight. I can't wait to see how this year goes.

I will be staying home with my kids. We usually don't really do a whole lot for New Years Eve. I know my kids are hoping to stay up, but that's about it.

Life is a Beach Giveaway Hop

Spring is in full swing.  The birds are singin'.  The pollen is falling and temps are FINALLY warming up.  So what better time time to start planning our Summer getaways. This year - as always - we are beach bound.  It's one of our fave places to visit given we only get to the beach once or twice a year.   Last year's visit to Cozumel was one for the record books. We stopped by this little restaurant and dined on grilled shrimp in a cabana right on the beach.   'Ohana also has a line of tequilas in flavors I had never seen before.  Tropical flavors such as coconut, mango and pina colada.  Hubby and I tried the 'Ohana peanut butter tequila.  The owner said folks either love it or hate it... we LOVED it!!! As I was sipping all I could think of was how good this peanut butter tequila would taste as a baste on my tequila wings.  It would be like a tequila satay wings type dish. * * * G I V E A W A Y * * * One lucky Three ...
