Come Out & Play BUT Let's Practice Social Distancing

Come Out & Play  BUT Remember   To   Practice Social Distancing COVID-19, Coronavirus, Da Rona, whatever you're calling it has definitely changed all of our lives.  Families are spending more and more time together.  My husband teases me saying I've spent more time in the backyard since March than I have in the entire 15 years we've lived in our home.  Sad thing is... he's right. We planted a garden.  It was kinda by chance.  I bought these seeds and this starter compost.  Put them near the kitchen and after about a week or so, I started noticing gnats in my kitchen.  I figured it was some of the fresh fruit gone bad.  Tossed the fruit. Wiped everything down.  Gnats were gone.  A few days later... the gnats returned.  FINALLY figured out it that I had this dirt near the kitchen and remembered "Oh, you were going to start gardening."   Seeds planted.  Watered.  Now we wait.  It'll be a fe...

FirstWords October Book Releases

October has come and gone but I would be remiss not to share some of the inspirational October releases from Faith Words, a division of Hachette Book Group.  I have been swamped with volunteer activities and a new puppy.  As I mentioned a few months ago, our beloved doggy of 13 years passed away over the summer.  After some careful consideration, Hubby and I decided we wanted to have another doggy.  He's keeping us pretty busy and we love it! October was a rollercoaster of emotions for me.  I attended not one but TWO amazing social media conferences.  Lots of volunteer activities with our church youth. I won a 2nd place ribbon at the State Fair for one of my poems.  Go me!!!  It was my first time participating so not too shabby huh?  I volunteered for the Susan B Komen Race for the Cure and had my annual mammogram.  This was the first time in a long time I didn't walk the race.  It was too emotional for me.  So much so tha...

Check Out My #LittleGlowUp and Enter to Win a Little the Movie Prize Pack

*Many thanks to NBC Universal for providing me with the Little the Movie Prize Pack I mention in this blog post* Have you ever looked through old pics and been amazed by how much you've changed?   Over the weekend I was Spring cleaning and came across some old family pics.  I giggled a little at the different hairstyles I've rocked over the years.  Hunty, I've rocked 'em all.  Then I saw this pic of me when I was about 12 years old.  I remember the pic.  It was the evening of my 8th grade graduation.  It was the day I won a trophy for Math.  Yes, MATH!  What can I say, *shoulder shrug* I've always loved numbers. Funny isn't how some of the qualities we had as kids carry over into our adulthood.  Now  imagine knowing what we know now as adults BUT trapped inside the body of a tween. That's the premise behind the move Little which hits theaters on April 12. In Little , Girls Trip’s Regina Hall and Black-ish’s Mar...
