Flip Flop Wines Review

Nothing like a glass of wine to wind down after an exhausting day.  Back in the day a nice bottle of wine was so expensive we only popped the vino on special occasions.  So it's nice to see an bottle of wine that tastes so good and affordable you can serve it at the everyday backyard barbecue, as well as, the fancy schmancy shindig leaving everyone to gasp when you tell it's under 10 bucks!  Yes, flipflop wines is that kinda' wine.

Let me preface this review by saying before the kids were born I belonged to a wine club and each month I received 3 bottles of wine.  I used it mainly for cooking and entertaining and developed a love of good wine.  So, I was skeptical when I heard of flipflop wines.  I mean, come on, it was like $7.  I so thought it would be bland, cheap, tasteless wine but I was wrong.  The flipflop Wines I sampled were fragrant, refreshing, full of aromas that stimulate your tastebuds, flipflop Wines did not disappoint.

I absolutely loved the flipflop Riesling.  Fruity aromas coupled with a subtle sweetness.  Riesling is perfect for taking the twinge out of spicy foods.  I imagine with it's peach undertones, flipflop Riesling would make a delicious sauce with some fresh peaches and berries served atop fresh baked shortcake.  Confession:  I love fresh fruits in wine reductions.  It's delicious and a great way to get rid of that not quite a glass left of wine.

If the lure of an aromatic wine isn't enough to tempt you, then the fact that a portion of every sale benefits one of my favorite charities, Soles4Souls.  So one good thing begets another.  How awesome is that!

Life is a Beach Giveaway Hop

Spring is in full swing.  The birds are singin'.  The pollen is falling and temps are FINALLY warming up.  So what better time time to start planning our Summer getaways. This year - as always - we are beach bound.  It's one of our fave places to visit given we only get to the beach once or twice a year.   Last year's visit to Cozumel was one for the record books. We stopped by this little restaurant and dined on grilled shrimp in a cabana right on the beach.   'Ohana also has a line of tequilas in flavors I had never seen before.  Tropical flavors such as coconut, mango and pina colada.  Hubby and I tried the 'Ohana peanut butter tequila.  The owner said folks either love it or hate it... we LOVED it!!! As I was sipping all I could think of was how good this peanut butter tequila would taste as a baste on my tequila wings.  It would be like a tequila satay wings type dish. * * * G I V E A W A Y * * * One lucky Three ...

We manage to get rid of a lot of leftovers by making sure everyone has a to go plate and delivering dinners to elderly and homebound family, church members and friends.  Yet, there is always a lot of stuff left. After the last guest has left and after I’ve put away the last load of dishes in the dishwasher, it’s time to break out the freezer bags and storage containers and fill up the fridge with all the leftovers.  Here are 12 of our favorite ways to gobble up Turkey Day leftovers and a chance to win a $25 Walmart eGiftcard.   1.       Thanksgiving Casserole         2.       Turkey Roll Ups         3.       Turkey Club Sandwiches         4.       Thanksgiving Pizza  ...
