How To Plan The Perfect Wedding In One Week

Sounds insane doesn't it?  Planning a wedding in ONE week BUT it can be done.  It is being done.

Here's the story.  Last week I get a call from my cousin inviting me to his wedding.

His wedding???

I didn't know anything about said nuptials.  You can't just spring that on me.  What am I going to wear?  Deets... I need deets.

At first, he and his fiance' were going to have a small civil ceremony.  They'd both been married before and both had big dream weddings so they just didn't want the hassle of a big wedding.

Thank goodness they had a change of plans and decided for a small ceremony of sorts and who better to help with their last minute nuptials than moi.

I helped plan my mom's wedding, my sister's wedding and one of my best friend's weddings and did it all without breaking the bank.

Secure a Location.
June is a great time to have a wedding.  Perfect for outdoor weddings since it's not too hot and it's not too cold.  Perfect for church weddings because most are planning Summer vacation getaways.

Assemble the Wedding Party.
It's last minute so grab someone to officiate the ceremony, a bestie or two to serve as witnesses and tada there you have it, a wedding party.  No tux, no problem.  No need to buy a bunch of dresses someone will wear one time and complain about for years to come.  Nice suit.  Cute dress.  Just find something to coordinate with the bride's colors.  Bridal party check.
Invite Folks.
Call and invite a few friends.  Keyword - CALL.  Don't text.  Call.  Be sure to apologize for the short notice and keep the convo short to avoid pestering questions.  Of course, people will want to know why so soon but save your answers for another day.

Decorate.
Break out your glue gun and make a stop at your local Hobby Lobby, Michael's or your fave craft store to pick up a few festive decorations for your wedding day.  You're sure to find someone who can help you create some sort of a bouquet or floral arrangements for the wedding.
A little help from Miss Deloris and tada, we've got floral arrangements & a bouquet
Refreshments
Be sure to have some refreshments on hand after the ceremony.  Punch and cookies, a homemade cake,  or even a store bought cake, just something to celebrate your nuptials.

A wedding is a special day and should you have a change of heart and decide on a last minute celebration, there's no reason why your last minute plans should diminish from your special day.

That being said, congratulations are in order for my cousin and his bride.  I wish them many happy years together.

Love,

Happy New Year!

What better way to kick off the new year than with a giveaway! I am so excited to join The Mommy Island, The Kids Did It and 90+ other fab blogs in the first big giveaway hop of 2018!

Here’s your chance to start the new year off with a win. One lucky Three Boys and an Old Lady blog reader will receive a $15 Walmart eGift card. $10 may not seem like a lot but it’s enough to stock up on some last minute Christmas clearance gifts. Trust me. I bought a 6’ Christmas tree WITH lights, 2 animal massagers, 3 Jelly Belly BeanBoozled Jelly Beans Mystery Bean Dispenser, Christmas cards and wrapping paper less than $20 during an after Christmas Walmart shopping trip.

I was searching for some cough syrup when my friend’s kid spotted the Jelly Belly BeanBoozled Jelly Beans Mystery Bean Dispenser on sale for 50 cents. What a steal! The regular price is $10 so to find them on sale for 50 cents was a deal. We cleared the shelves.

A few rows down we spotted some animal neck massager…
