Teaching the kids to seek opportunities to serve others is important to me as it helps them understand how blessing others blesses us. Blessing others is what Novica does. Novica, a National Geographic company, gives global artisans a marketplace to sell their wares. Whether it's jewelry, clothing, art or furniture, all of the gifts share the unique story of the artisan who crafted them.
Novica enables people to sell their goods and even helps with business counseling and offers 0% loans to artisans. These microloans help craftsman buy supplies to create items which help them support their families.
Novica also introduces the world to designs and customs of various cultures throughout the world.
I've ordered from Novica quite a few times over the past few years and have been very pleased with my gifts.
A couple of years ago I ordered a chess set. When we're not playing chess, the set sits on our coffee table and is quite the conversation piece.
I also purchased several pairs of earrings from Novica. One I gifted to a friend after she returned from a trip to Mexico. I thought the earrings would be the perfect reminder of her Mexican vacation. She still makes a point to tell everyone "a dear friend got these for me" every single time she wears them as they're quite unique and a subject of conversation every time she wears them.
This year I've got my eyes on a pair of amethyst earrings. I've narrowed my choices down to these three. I'm still undecided.
