Whiten Those Pearly Whites and a Smile Brilliant Review and Giveaway

I wear braces.  Metal.  Braces.  First go round, I got them just before I found out I was pregnant with the twins.  I had a slight overbite as a result of decades of biting my nails. Or at least that's the story I tell myself.  Okay, I admit it, it was vanity, pure vanity.

After 22 months of metal braces, I was so excited to try Smile Brilliant because my braces were coming off and besides flossing my teeth sans floss threader, I couldn't wait to have my teeth whitened.  Solely because I wore braces for so long.  Or at least that's the story I tell myself.  Okay, I admit it, it was vanity, pure vanity.  I was all gung ho about getting my braces off but my orthodontist said "Nope, not so fast" and it'll be 2 more months. L

No teeth whitening for me.

Fortunately, Hubby stepped up to the plate and agreed to sample Smile Brilliant.  He does a lot of public speaking on his job and he has his teeth whitened at his dentist office once or twice a year to keep his pearly whites, pearly white.  He's tried whitening strips in the past and applicator gel brushes and wasn't happy with the quality of the whitening level. He's been using the same whitening system for about 3 years now so convincing him was a task, but he was up to the challenge.
Smile Brilliant is a rather unique teeth whitening system.  It comes with everything you need to create custom fitted trays.
  1. Brush and floss your teeth
  2. Create impressions of your teeth using the special molding compounds (base paste and catalyst paste) and impression tray
  3. Make upper and lower impressions
  4. Mail the impressions to Smile Brilliant
  5. Wait a few days to receive your custom plastic inserts
Once you receive your inserts you use the Desensitizing Gel and Teeth Whitening Gel syringes according to directions.  If you've ever tried OTC (over the counter) tooth whitening products, you know most of them require you to leave the product on your teeth for 30 minutes to an hour for maximum effect.  Smile Brilliant requires a little bit longer, but that's because of the Desensitizing Gel which you apply and leave on for about 20 minutes to an hour before using the Teeth Whitening Gel.

Check out this video showing how the trays are made.

Our Thoughts:  It's been 3 weeks and I'm glad to report Hubby has noticed some whitening and is pleased with the results and I cannot wait to get my braces off so I can order a Smile Brilliant Professional Teeth Whitening Kit of my very own.

Maple and Brown Sugar Air Fryer Bacon

I've been raving about my Instant Pot but now I have a new favorite... the Air Fryer.   O M G This thing is amazing!  I don't know why I was so late to the Air Fryer craze but I am so glad I am finally onboard.   I've been talking about getting one and then after my aunt posted pics of her new air fryer, that was it off to Best Buy I went.   I wasn't sure how big of a unit I would need but I figured the 2.5 liter would suffice.  I chose the Chefman Express.  It was priced on the shelves for $85 but online for $75.99 and my local store matched the price AND I had my Swagbucks Best Buy QR code so I got 500 SBs + 2 SBs for every dollar spent so that's another 170 SBs.  So, after discounts, my air fryer ended up costing me less than the sale price.  Woohoo! There were some fancy ones on the shelves with digital display but after checking the reviews I figured since I don't fry much this model would suffice. When I think of fried foods, I think

A Pit Stop at Sho Nuff Hot Tamales in Greenville, Mississippi

My cousin and I were driving along and our tummies were rumbling as we crossed the Mississippi state line on US-82.  We didn't really have any particular dish in mind for lunch but we started seeing signs saying "Hot Tamales". "Hot Tamales", my Philly cousin asked. "Yep", I replied nonchalantly.  "I remember reading something about hot tamales being a big thing here in the Delta."   We kept driving and finally decided we would have to try these famous Mississippi Delta hot tamales. Now to decide which one.  There were literally dozens of tamale spots.  We happened upon a restaurant called Sho-Nuff and decided it was the one. We parked and entered the large, delightfully decorated restaurant.  The wall was plastered with local and national awards in recognition of those hot tamales.   There was a sign touting Sho-Nuff as the winner of the local newspaper's favorite restaurant award and 3rd place winner in the annual  Delta Hot Ta
