On September 21 at Union Station in Washington DC, 46 mothers from around the country will gather to shave their heads in solidarity with their children who have fought or are currently fighting cancer. These 46 women call themselves the “46 Mommas.”
Why the 46 Mommas? This group represents the startling reality that each weekday 46 families are told that their child has cancer. The Mommas come from all over the country, and there may be one from your area. A complete list is below.
Below is a link to a video produced from last year's event in Los Angeles:

I had just watched a documentary on how modern foods increase cancer rate in the U.S. Sounds scary. Good luck to 46 hero mommas!

Wow, what a great way to bring awareness! I'd have a hard time getting rid of my hair, but if it were one of my kiddos going through it I KNOW I wouldn't hesitate!
Heartbreaking, the statistics. Praying for those families!
As one of the original 46 Mommas from 2010, and the mother of an angel - my 12-year-old son, Keeghan, died in 2008 after a 2+ year battle with brain cancer - I can't thank you enough for helping us to spread awareness. If giving up my hair can save future kids from dying, I'd gladly be bald forever!
